She learned some gardening early on to try being useful herself. She's also regained her engineering and swordsmanship skills. Aside from being something she really enjoys, I think engineering is one of the skills we see crop up less frequently in aather, whereas most characters have fighting skill regains of one sort or another.

How did you decide to app Sakura?

Jaina's one of my favorite Star Wars characters. In the past I've played her in her happy-carefree-teenager stages, and have just always wanted to properly play her with her twin. So when I started poking around and looking at Aather I saw that Aather had a Jacen! ...And it was adult Jacen! Normally I hesitate about the idea of playing with Jaina as an adult because after the end of Young Jedi Knights, canon is extremely rough on the Solo family. Jaina becomes a teen soldier with PTSD, Chewbacca and little bro Anakin die before she's 18, Jaina kills her own twin because he's gone to the dark side...over the years she's become driven to be an unemotional weapon, and the people around her are always worrying that she's trying to harden and push herself so much that she'll break. The authors say that it's a job for her just to keep herself going.

And it occurred to me that an amnesia game would be a really fun way to explore that progression, because Jaina is one of the characters that we literally see develop from birth to where she is now. In canon, when war removes her from her tight-knit circle of friends and her comrades are dying left and right she decides she has to push everyone away so their deaths won't hurt her and so her inevitable death won't hurt them -- that's the start of her slide into the strained, stressed and brittle adult that we end up with. How cool would it be to see how adult Jaina would change, having these memories come back to her with a team to support her? Would she stay the friendlier, less emotionally-armored tomboy she used to be? How would amnesia and memory regains alter how the Jaina versus Jacen thing played out? There was no question, I had to app her and see what would happen.

Then she was placed on a team that holds each other at arm's length -- and in fact ended up with a teammate putting a knife to her throat -- so she's stressed and closing off anyway, but oh well. XD

Are there others you'd be interested in apping?

LAAAAAAASERS she already remembers how to make a lightsaber with gemstones and a focusing lens, so :3

Alternative pipe dream ideal situation answer: Jaina introduces solar power to Aather.

So now that we've had that thread, does Sakura have a first impression? |D

Sakura seems like a good kid! Slight stumbling block for Jaina is dresses as a conversation piece for Jaina is basically "just keep it off me." Privately she...does think it was kind of garish...BUT Sakura's obviously friendly and wants to be able to help people, which is always good. Would gladly talk to again.

Also if it helps with the intimidation factor, Sakura's taller than Jaina. She inherited her mom's shortness genes and just stopped growing at about 4'9. XD

When the time comes, how will the powercap affect Sakura?

She haaaates it. And if all those extra A's comes across as melodramatic, that's probably the right sense. Jaina's complaints with the Personae break down to:

-Smokescreens. The Personae tend to be vague, evasive and generally a poor source of information.
-Powercap/skill blocking. Jaina and Jacen both tend to get very pissy when someone interferes with their connection to the Force; in Jaina's case, when her Force abilities are suppressed, she parses it as being smothered with a wet blanket.
-Personae and Heroes are not peers, regardless of the fact that things are framed as the Heroes being brought to help them save a world. Which leads to...
-The Personae take who they want away without warning. Particularly, they took away Jacen, which with their twinbond Jaina parsed as losing a part of herself, and they took Mal, who was a big emotional support for Jaina.

Speaking of, what's Sakura's point of view on the situation she finds herself in?
