If I did change the chakra in my body, could you see it happen?

I can't see it, no. We'd need Neji for that, too. You have to have pretty strong chakra for it to be visible to the eye.

I mean... as a mednin, eventually I'd be able to sense disturbances or abnormalities in your chakra network, but I'd probably have to be touching you.

That'd still work... as long as you could tell if something was going on. I guess that's what you were trying to do before, right?

Exactly. But I'm not very good at it myself yet, is the problem. I can remember learning it, but...

But you haven't got it as a skill yet. That's always frustrating.

Mm, it's more that my skills are all tied together. I have the ability, but how good I am at it depends on how good my chakra control is. So while I've gotten back some ability to control my chakra and the skill to heal, I haven't yet won really good chakra control... so my ability to do mednin stuff is limited right now.

Oh... huh.

Well. Should I try again?

[settles himself down again and takes a few deep breaths. time for more meditation! this time after he's mentally traced his pulses for awhile, he's going to try imagining the fight he was in again, and the feeling of pushing all his energy into one hand]

[...watches him quietly for a while]

I'm going to see if I can feel your network now, okay?

[very slowly places her hands on his knees]

[doesn't respond other than to try and keep his focus -- he's very aware of his body in general and has a lot of strength of will, as well as the visceral memory of the fight to help him figure out what he's doing, so there's probably something going on, although he is of course completely untrained and from a different world, so... probably not a whole lot of something, I would guess?]

[pushes herself a little harder, trying to grab onto that feeling and really get a read on it; might unconsciously lean her weight a little heavier on his knees]

[that's a little distracting. his concentration wavers for a moment before he drags it back.]

[just stays like that for a while, feeling]

...Well, I can sense some change in the direction of your energy. It's faint, but it's there.

[sits back, thoughtful]

I guess... you should probably keep this up for a while-- meditating, practicing. Once you feel like you can really tell, we'll try some more directed practice, okay? I'll keep practicing too, so I can be of more help.

[opens his eyes and leans back on his elbows]

All right... but how will I know?

Mm... well. Typically you can feel it, when you manipulate your chakra. If you're not getting much right now it's probably because it's weak and unpracticed.

I'm hoping that with enough practice you'll eventually really be able to notice the feeling, when you move your chakra through your body.

I'll keep working on it.

...I'll ask for Neji's help, too. Even if we don't have him block your pathways, he should still be able to see if anything is happening.
