[ The sound of faint music draws you toward the ring, too low for anyone to make out what's playing. Unfortunately, stepping into the ring today does not land you in front of a scrumptious feast or welcoming environment . . .

That is, unless you find dark and frigid cells inviting. It's a very small space, which you're sharing with a person who is mostly likely someone special to you. From the motion, it's fairly clear you're on a ship of some kind and there doesn't seem to be anyone aside from your partner around. A quick look will reveal a knife and a small vial labelled with a skull and crossbones nearby.]

Great. [nudges the poison with a boot] Well whatever we pick, nobody is getting poisoned. That's such a terrible way to die.

We're ninja; I'm pretty sure we can come up with a quicker, easier death than that.

[huffs a bit, shifting uncomfortably]

I don't know what we have to offer... and anything really important that we do have-- like skills or something... I'm not sure it's worth it.

Because I've been here longer and am senior ranked. It's pointless for both of us to die to make a statement, so I'll do it.

[and then water begins to flow into the cell, seeping between cracks in the walls and floor and rising quickly (there seems to be an invisible barrier stopping it from flowing out between the bars). If you've made a decision about who will die, then the surviving person will instinctively know that they can breathe the water just fine. Either way, you have about sixty seconds to put any plans for dying into action before the water reaches the top of the cell. Once the person who was meant to die has died, their body will disappear, the water will recede and the door will swing open. Stepping through it will cause the survivor to find himself or herself in the Ring.]

[...balls her hands to fists a takes a deep breath, then turns and pushes Neji into the wall, to give herself leverage]

Don't-- fight me on this, okay?

[braces both hands on his chest, over his heart, and forcefully shoves with her chakra--flooding his system with it in an attempt to overload it]

[draws a deep breath and forces himself calm]

[does a pretty good job of not fighting, actually!]

[which means he seizes up after a matter of seconds as his vital systems shut down in synchronicity]

[Bites her lip and keeps pushing chakra into him as the water rises up around them, making absolutely sure she kills him and doesn't just-- extremely fuck his body up]

[...this is pretty much the worst and the exact opposite of anything she ever wanted to use her powers for, though]
