Lightning is... well okay she has a base :T for all of Emerald to begin with, largely because A)she is resisting this whole team-and-heroes thing as hard as she mentally can. What is this, what, no. DNW. B)Emerald was like...way too zen and welcoming. She got a lot of "Hi, those colors mean you are now part of our ~family~ and ~we love you~ and will ~care for you~ and expect the same in return because we might have mentioned you are Emerald now". ...okay it wasn't quite like that but that was her overall impression. Which is both like...kind of creepy and also, in Lightning's mind, extremely ill thought out. They don't know anything about her! What if she's violent or dangerous! You can't just accept somebody into your life and your safe space like that, jeez. Jeez.

But that aside, she likes him okay. He is generally one of the more reasonable ones, and he's quiet, and he provides information when she thinks to ask for it and often even when she doesn't. Also, he has a younger sibling and so she like... idk. Older sibling solidarity you will understand '-' If she were going to let herself have any visible feels (which she has, a little) she would probably be most willing to have them around Stealth at the moment.

Sakura remains pretty solid on Itachi. I mean obviously he is where she goes when she needs to have Sasuke feels, because he will understand and he's pretty comforting about it. I mean, he kind of understands Sasuke best, so. He also keeps her from wallowing in miserable hyperbolic woe. Sometimes she thinks he does maybe not fully understand the extent of her sads, because hey lets be honest whenever Sasuke chooses to just like up and abandon someone it is not ever Itachi that he chooses 8| but, well. She knows their relationship is complicated so w/e w/e she is pretty sure he understands why It's Complicated better than most other people. Sakura doesn't even know why it's so complicated honestly so. SHE WILL LEARN. EVENTUALLY.

Sasuke feels aside though she still just likes hanging out with him. He is relaxing and smart. :B She still wants to train more with him because that was awesome~~~

Itachi honestly enjoys Lightning quite a bit. He doesn't mind her attitude at all and is more than willing to just kind of treat her like anyone else and not really focus on the teammate thing, because he can honestly understand needing space to deal adjust. He's actually a bit :|a at some of the other members seeming to be kind of pushy about it. They weren't pushy with him when he arrived. But then again he was the first replacement member to come in and he arrived when the team was kind of exploding so he just. Kind of found things to do to make himself useful and made a place for himself while everyone else was stressing about things he couldn't fully understand because he came in in the middle of them, anyway. They've had a few new people come in since then, and they've all been younger and/or needier than he was and also Lightning came in after Knife left which probably means some of them are overcompensating a bit for the loss of the leader.

I think I've said it before but Itachi isn't inclined to view Lightning as a replacement. He feels like that concept is insulting to both the new person to arrive and to the person who has left (or been booked/taken). Knife is still a member of Emerald, she's just somewhere else right now. She is not replaceable. Lightning is a new member of the team, that's all, and that's cool. She won't take Knife's place but she will make her own place there when she's ready to. Until then he is willing to just get to know her as an individual, and he likes what he's seen of her so far. She seems intelligent and competent even if she is kind of cranky, but he doesn't mind crankiness and it's not like he can blame her. The first few days of being in Aather are stressful and kind of overwhelming, and hers were made worse by dying horribly.

It has been awhile since Itachi has taken such a fast liking to someone. Part of it could be that she's a new Emerald so he's just more inclined to let himself pay more attention, but he also just kind of enjoys talking to her and finds hear easy to relate to. Possibly because her attitude really is Sasuke-ish at times and also older sibling solidarity. Fortunately it is not a big deal to him if she likes him back as much, his memories have made pretty comfortable with the concept of liking/respecting/caring about people who don't like him, so he's not inclined to push her.

As for Sakura! The whole thing with Sasuke giving up his memories made Itachi realize he didn't just check on Sakura because she and Sasuke have a history and Sasuke cares about her even if he tries to pretend like he doesn't sometimes. Itachi has actually developed a fondness for her outside of Sasuke. He likes her and respects that she's a healer and can apparently punch holes in things and that's why he will sometimes make a point of checking on her and asking after her team like he did in their most recent thread, and even pushing a little for an answer.

He does understand that Sasuke makes her sad and doesn't mind when she stresses about Sasuke in his direction, and has even gotten used to Sakura hugging and/or crying on him when she's feeling that way. She's right in that he may not fully understand her feels because he's never the one Sasuke is willing to leave behind, but he does have sympathy for her, and appreciates that in spite of that she doesn't give up on Sasuke.

Sasuke did show him the team 7 reunion memory and knows that she at one point intended to kill him, but he's really much more concerned about Sasuke's reaction to the memory than what Sakura did in it. So it doesn't really change his opinion of her in Aather. In a way, if he thinks about it, he can even understand the pain she must have felt in being driven to that point, so he figures that's going to be a shit memory for her to get back whenever she gets it back. And he hopes that things can just work out differently in Aather for everybody's sake.

How does Sakura feel about the Jabberwock's game and its aftermath?

Honestly she barely had time to have any feels about the game itself-- Between Sasuke being incredibly more angry and determined and generally obviously not okay and Echo with her gaping stomach wound, Sakura was kind of already frazzled and stressed and had other things to think about!

In the wake of it she felt more guilty than anything-- mostly it's a confused and grateful guilt; but Turq was just so sure they would get hit hard, and then it turns out that no, instead we got cookies. So she feels guilty, not so much that she wasn't hurt when her friends were (though there's a little bit of that since she took ZERO damage and they actively rejected putting some of their own stones on Turq) but more that she (and everyone) apparently overlooked how much other people care about them... so she's like '-' oh. I. Oh. Ilu2guiz. I'm sorry I apparently...underestimated you...

She is pretty sure the Jabberwock is a dick though.

So how much is Itachi looking forward to this chat with Emerald that needs to happen re: death games?

He's not really looking forward to it at all, but kind of wants to get it over with, too. He knows it needs to happen for a lot of reasons, now it's just a matter of getting the whole team around so they can discuss things.

What skill are you most looking forward to Lightning getting back?

WELL SHE'LL BE HAPPY WHEN SHE GETS HER SWORDPLAY SKILLS BACK

but I think I am looking forward to her ravager skills, especially depending on what memories she has at the time because like... in general I like to play person-specific amnesia in the who-am-I sense and not the world-base amnesia of how-do-fish-work sense, and so Lightning will know things like gravity exists and water isn't breathable and the sky is blue and people can't use magic.

Except ha ha I guess she can, weird! /0-o\

How is Itachi feeling re: Sasuke at the moment?

He is super worried about him and also has like and overabundance of affection for him because he's been getting a lot of adorable childhood memories lately. And those tend to make him feel guilty because holy shit did he ruin everything or what, but also they fill him with lots of affection and generally make him more prone to fussing over Sasuke even on good days. So the fact that Sasuke has been having a lot of bad days lately means Itachi is extra fussy.

Also Sasuke's reaction to that memory actually kind of scared Itachi, in a way, or at least filled him with anxiety because he's honestly at a bit of a loss of how to navigate Sasuke's new levels of self-hatred. From what he can tell at this point, Sasuke more or less refuses to let himself be comforted and Itachi ends up feeling shut out in spite of being needed because Sasuke can't articulate how he feels. So they both end up frustrated and upset and Itachi gets angry at himself for failing at his brother and blames himself for the communication failure. FEELINGS ARE HARD.

What frustrates Lightning the most about Aather so far?

Uhh... probably most frustrating to her is the idea that she's just supposed to accept all of this. Like oh okay yeah any of this makes any sense and I will just go along willingly?????? She doesn't understand why people are so chill with this. On a small personal level she is still frustrated about not remembering Serah, but that will change as soon as she takes her memories since that one memory is basically just serah serah serah serah speaking of cute sibling memories serah.

Thunder pony sounds pretty cool and totally impressive. It seems much cooler than my god-thing technique whatever that apparently makes me bleed from the lungs.

What would Sakura and Lightning think of each other if they met?

God-thing is cool; bleeding from the lungs is not cool though, no.

...Probably Sakura would remind Lightning too much of Snow, and so therefore wouldn't like her. It IS one of the reasons why I didn't app Snow, as my initial plan; they are entirely too similar. Eventually Lightning might be able to appreciate that, but not for a while.

Sakura would likely not like Lightning much; she'd be cranky and judgy and she seems to dislike most of the people Sakura really cares about, gosh.

Cooking will likely be Lightning's calm-down activity, since it will be so strongly rooted in Serah memories. I mean... she'll have to come around a little more on teaminess, but. Let's cook things, what should we cook.

Itachi would be okay with that. He is generally pretty chill with people hanging around while he cooks or helping him. He and Sasuke cook together too (or Sasuke cooks and Itachi helps here and there) so he can sympathize with how Lightning views cooking if she were to tell him or something. He would probably be willing to cook whatever suited her tastes, though he'd be tempted to try to get her to make dango :B But he wouldn't push it if she didn't like it.

What would Lightning want to cook?

Dunno! It's really more that the action of cooking would be pleasant. Lightning is perfectly capable of cooking (or...will be, when she gets her skill back), but Serah is the BETTER cook. Serah makes everything delicious and wonderful and good and serah is the best. And cooking together was also the best. Because it was with serah '-'

What does Itachi think of Lightning being armed by Sasuke?

It actually kind of made him happy and was somewhat of a relief because, oh, in spite of that memory Sasuke is still kind of willing to be nice in his Sasuke way, apparently, even if he would probably totally deny it if confronted. So that was good to know. And also it is always nice to see him getting along with a member of Emerald. In as far as Sasuke and Lighting actually got along, but Sasuke gave her weapons so it seems like a good sign. It's better than ignoring her!! Sasuke not getting along with Emerald can be a source of anxiety for Itachi sometimes, too, so it's just kind of a relief when things go okay between his brother and a teammate.

Are there any skills Sakura ICly really wants back right now?

Well, she has a hard time looking ahead to skills because the medic skill came out of nowhere as far as she's concerned. Who knows what else she can do, gosh. But insofar as things she believes she should be able to do, she wants her actual medical knowledge back-- she can heal people, but she's missing the part where she understands how the human body goes together and what all the joints and various muscle groups are called. She feels like that would help her be a better medic, especially since Naruto-healing isn't just "I cast heal and you're better", but more "I need to treat the precise area that is hurt'

So what IS the plan for ninja consumption? I mean I imagine Sasuke will try and do something, but.

I...I have no idea. I think Sasuke wants to talk to Mal about it or something, but right after Itachi got that memory a bunch of other horrible things happened and distracted them, and they haven't talked about it since, so I don't know what's going on there.

What does Sakura think of Emerald's apparent tendency to self-sacrifice at this point?

Well, as an overall idea she can see the appeal of it, I guess. I mean, for herself she'd see it more as MUST PROTECT OTHERS rather than SCREW YOU PERSONAE but it's not a terrible impulse...

In the practical sense though it's not like she likes thinking about people she cares about dying terribly. Also the Sasuke thing makes it kind of terrifyingly complicated >-> ahh Sasuke's sanity ahh

What do you think Itachi will make of the current canon developments, once he regains them?
